[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to your Daily Grace by Timothy Wilder Grace slows down judgment. It doesn't take much for us to form an opinion about someone and even less time to feel certain that we're right. A comment, a decision, or a moment we don't fully understand. [00:00:18] And almost instinctively, we assign meaning, define intent, and settle into a conclusion, often with only a small part of the picture in view. [00:00:27] But grace begins to interrupt that reflex, not by ignoring truth or pretending that wrong is right, but by slowing us down long enough to see more clearly. Grace creates space between what we experience and how we respond, reminding us that there is often more beneath the surface than we first recognize. [00:00:47] James writes, everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. James 1:19 that kind of posture doesn't come naturally. It flows from a heart that has come to rest in something deeper. When you know you are already accepted, already secure, already made right in Christ, there is less urgency to react and more freedom to understand. [00:01:11] Grace reshapes the way we see people. Instead of responding to a single moment, we begin to consider the larger story. Instead of reacting to what is immediate, we become more aware of what may be unseen, the weight someone is carrying, the place they are coming from, the struggle behind their words. [00:01:31] Jesus said, do not judge or you too will be judged. [00:01:39] This is not a call to abandon discernment, but an invitation to examine the posture of our hearts. Are we quick to conclude or willing to understand? [00:01:49] Are we responding out of assumption or out of compassion? [00:01:54] Paul writes, bear with each other and forgive one another. Colossians 3:13 that kind of patience is not produced by effort alone. It grows out of remembering how much patience has already been extended to us. [00:02:08] When we live in the awareness of that mercy, it begins to shape how we extend it to others. [00:02:14] Grace does not remove our ability to discern, but it transforms the way we respond. [00:02:21] It slows us down, softens our reactions, and makes room for mercy. Where judgment once rushed in and over time that shift becomes evident not in grand moments but in quieter ones, where we pause a little longer, assume a little less, and extend a little more grace. [00:02:40] Thanks for listening. If you are being fed and or uplifted by these messages, we encourage you to like, comment, share, and subscribe. These things help us spread the message of grace.
