[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to your Daily grace. By Timothy Wilder Foundations Episode 96 the Fruit of the Spirit the Ninefold Fruit Paul's list in Galatians five is not nine separate fruits. It is one fruit with nine expressions revealing the character of Christ formed in us by the Spirit.
[00:00:24] Each quality shows a different facet of his life. Taking together, they paint a complete picture of what the Spirit produces in a believer who walks with him.
[00:00:35] The fruit is not a set of goals to achieve. It is the evidence of Christ's life quietly shaping ours from within, often in ways we only recognize over time. The Spirit forms these qualities as a unified whole, not as isolated virtues we pursue on our own.
[00:00:54] Love is the foundation. It is the Spirit's first work and the source of all the others.
[00:01:00] Love is the steady, self giving posture of Christ toward us now, flowing through us toward others. When love deepens, every other fruit begins to grow almost naturally.
[00:01:13] Joy is love rejoicing. It is the deep gladness that comes from Christ's presence, not from circumstances. Joy is the Spirit's witness that our life is rooted in something unshakable, something the world cannot take away or diminish.
[00:01:30] Peace is love resting. It is the settled confidence that God holds us, keeps us, and is for us Peace is the Spirit quieting the storms inside us even when storms remain around us. It is the calm of Christ formed within.
[00:01:46] Patience is love enduring. It is the Spirit's strength to remain steady when life stretches us.
[00:01:53] Patience is not passive. It is resilient trust shaped by grace and anchored in hope.
[00:02:00] Kindness is love reaching. It is the Spirit's gentle posture toward weakness, need and pain. Kindness reflects the heart of Christ, who never crushes the bruised reed and never turns away from the hurting.
[00:02:15] Goodness is love acting. It is integrity, purity and moral clarity shaped by the Spirit. Goodness is the desire to do what reflects God's heart even when no one sees or applauds.
[00:02:29] Faithfulness is love persevering. It is the Spirit's reliability formed in us, making us steady, trustworthy and anchored. Faithfulness mirrors the steadfastness of Christ Himself who never abandons his people.
[00:02:45] Gentleness is love yielding. It is strength under control, humility in action and tenderness shaped by Christ's own meekness.
[00:02:55] Gentleness is the Spirit softening what is harsh within us and making us safe for others.
[00:03:01] Self control is love governing. It is the Spirit's power to direct desires rather than be directed by them. It is freedom, not restriction, and it protects every other fruit from distortion.
[00:03:16] These nine qualities are the life of Christ expressed through us. The fruit of the Spirit is the character of Jesus, formed in ordinary people by extraordinary grace.
[00:03:27] As we walk with him. The Spirit produces what we cannot manufacture, and the world sees Christ in us, often through the quietest and most consistent expressions of his life.
