[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to your daily Grace by Timothy Wilder Foundation Series Episode 15 what Grace Is Grace is God's covenant posture. In the new Covenant, grace is not something God occasionally shows. It is the posture he has chosen to take. Too often, grace is treated like a moment, a divine exception, an act of kindness God extends when we fall short. [00:00:28] But in the new covenant, grace is not an interruption to how God relates to his people. It is the very foundation of that relationship. It is not rare. It is not temporary. It is the governing stance of God toward those who are in Christ. [00:00:44] This shift is at the heart of what makes the new covenant truly new. [00:00:48] The writer of Hebrews points us directly to God's own this is the covenant I will establish. [00:00:58] What follows is not a list of external requirements, but a description of internal transformation and divine initiative. [00:01:06] God is not merely adjusting the terms. He is establishing an entirely new framework for relationship. At the center of that framework is grace. [00:01:16] God goes on to say, I will be merciful toward their iniquities and I will remember their sins no more. [00:01:25] This is not a temporary suspension of judgment or a reluctant overlooking of sin. It is a covenantal commitment. Mercy is not occasional. [00:01:35] It is embedded into the very structure of the relationship. [00:01:39] Forgiveness is not earned it is promised. This means that grace is not something we move in and out of depending on our performance. [00:01:48] It is the environment we now live in. [00:01:51] Paul makes this explicit when he writes, for sin will have no dominion over you since you are not under law, but under grace. [00:01:59] Romans 6:14 Notice the language under grace. This is not describing a fleeting experience but a new position, a new reality that defines the believers standing before God. [00:02:14] To be under law was to live within a system where relationship was mediated by performance, where standing could fluctuate based on obedience. [00:02:24] But to be under grace is to live within a covenant where God's posture is consistently one of mercy, favor, and initiative. The entire dynamic has changed. This doesn't make grace passive. It makes it powerful, because grace is the governing posture. It reshapes everything. [00:02:43] It redefines how we approach God, how we understand ourselves, how we in how we experience transformation. [00:02:51] We are no longer relating to a God whose stance toward us is uncertain or conditional. [00:02:57] We are relating to a God who has decisively revealed his posture, merciful, faithful, and unwavering. This is an essential boundary to keep clear. [00:03:08] Grace is not an occasional expression within the new Covenant. [00:03:12] It is the defining characteristic of is the lens through which every interaction is now viewed and the foundation upon which every promise stands. [00:03:23] When we see grace this way, we stop bracing ourselves for God's response and begin to rest in it. His posture has already been revealed and it is grace. [00:03:35] Thanks for listening.
