Salvation Is by Grace, Not Achievement

This teaching explores the true meaning of salvation, showing that it is not achieved through human effort but received through God’s grace. It challenges the performance-based mindset and re-centers salvation on God’s initiative and mercy in Christ.

[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to your daily Grace by Timothy Wilder foundation series episode 17 salvation what does it really mean to be Saved? [00:00:12] Salvation is by grace, not achievement. Before we can understand salvation, we have to get the foundation right. [00:00:19] Much of the confusion around salvation does not come from a lack of scripture, but from a deeply rooted assumption that salvation is something we achieve or contribute to through moral moral effort or religious performance. [00:00:35] Scripture consistently challenges that assumption. [00:00:38] Salvation does not begin with human effort, striving or self improvement. [00:00:43] It begins with God's initiative, His grace reaching toward us long before we ever reach toward Him. [00:00:51] Salvation is always movement from God to man, not man to God. This matters because human systems naturally operate on achievement. We measure worth by performance and and assume acceptance must be earned. [00:01:05] Grace completely disrupts that way of thinking. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing. It is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. [00:01:19] Ephesians 2:8 9 Paul is not just explaining salvation, he is dismantling a mindset. If salvation were based on works and comparison and boasting would be unavoidable. But grace removes human performance from the foundation entirely, eliminating every basis for pride. He saved us not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own Mercy. Titus 3:5 this is the dividing line between religion and the gospel do in order to be accepted. Grace says you are accepted in Christ, therefore you are transformed. The order changes everything. [00:02:00] Salvation is not the reward for the successful, disciplined or morally consistent. It is the gift given to the undeserving. Gifts are not earned, they are received. [00:02:12] The moment achievement enters the equation, grace is no longer grace. This truth reshapes how we relate to God. [00:02:20] It removes the pressure of self justification and replaces it with trust in what Christ has already accomplished. It also produces humility because there is no room for personal credit in a salvation that is entirely received. [00:02:36] At the same time it produces assurance. [00:02:39] If salvation depended on performance, our security would always fluctuate with our failures. But because salvation rests in God's grace and it rests in his character, not our consistency. So the question is not have I done enough? [00:02:55] The real question is, have I received what has already been freely given? [00:03:01] And that is where grace begins to redefine everything. [00:03:05] Thanks for listening. If you are being fed and or uplifted by these messages, we encourage you to like, comment, share and subscribe. These things help us spread the message of grace.
