[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to your Daily Grace by Timothy Wilder Grace builds up, not shows off.
[00:00:08] I'll admit it, there have been moments when my idea of spiritual growth drifted into something I could show, something to demonstrate, something to be seen, instead of something quietly lived. It's an easy trap to fall into without even realizing it. Growth can start to feel like something we need to display rather than something we simply live in. But grace leads us in a very different direction. Grace doesn't seek attention, it seeks to build. It doesn't elevate self, it strengthens others.
[00:00:42] Where pride looks to be seen, grace quietly works behind the scenes, lifting, encouraging and serving.
[00:00:51] This is the heart of how God works in us.
[00:00:55] Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
[00:01:00] It's possible to know a lot, to say the right things, and still miss what truly matters.
[00:01:07] Because grace is not about appearing spiritual. Rather, it's about being transformed in a way that genuinely blesses others.
[00:01:15] And that kind of transformation doesn't turn inward, it moves outward.
[00:01:20] Let all that you do be done. In love, grace produces something deeper than performance.
[00:01:30] It produces love, a steady, quiet love that doesn't need recognition, doesn't seek credit, and doesn't measure itself against others.
[00:01:39] Instead, it looks for ways to come alongside people, to encourage, to strengthen, and to build them up.
[00:01:46] Grace builds up, not shows off, as it says in 1st Thessalonians 5:11. Therefore encourage one another and build one another upon. That's what grace does.
[00:01:58] It doesn't compete or compare, and it doesn't try to rise above. So when you feel that subtle pull to prove yourself, to show your growth or make your faith visible for recognition, it's worth pausing for a moment. That's not the direction grace moves. Grace builds quietly. Grace loves deeply. Grace strengthens others, and in doing so it reflects the very heart of Christ, who did not come to be seen or applauded, but to give himself fully for others. That is the life grace produces.
