[00:00:00] Hello, welcome to your daily Grace by Timothy Wilder Foundations Episode 47 Law and Grace Grace came through Jesus Christ. John writes for the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. [00:00:17] This single line marks the difference between two covenants and two ways of approaching God. The Law was given as commands and expectations. [00:00:26] Grace came as a person and was revealed through his life, his words, his cross, and his resurrection. The Law was a message. Grace is a man. The Law demands righteousness. Grace supplies it. The Law exposes sin, grace removes it. The Law could reveal God's holiness, but not his heart. Jesus did in him. Grace became a living reality. Grace touched the unclean, restored the broken, and welcomed the outcast. Grace did not lower the standard. Grace fulfilled it for us. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth. [00:01:03] Grace is not God easing His expectations. Grace is God meeting them in Christ and giving us the benefit. Jesus did not bring a new version of the law. He brought something entirely different. The Law could command love, but Jesus demonstrated it. The Law could require sacrifice, but Jesus became it. Grace now governs the believer's relationship with God. To say grace came through Jesus Christ is to say everything changed. God now relates to you through the finished work of His Son. Grace is not only a doctrine to study. Grace is a person to behold. [00:01:39] Thanks for listening.
